Get Embodied Soul Dance class
Started Feb 2016, this space is a practice using Black American Social Dance, Pan African Inspired Movement and Dance, principles and practices to promote the alignment of mind, body, and spirit in the lives of Fat, Black, and Disabled people. This practice is one that sustains people living at one or more of these intersections while benefiting any soul and anybody willing to practice it.
In person class: 2nd Saturdays at 1:00PM in Durham, NC at PSH (white building) 1809 Chapel Hill Rd.
Online class: 4th Saturdays at 1:00PM on ZOOM
Classes are drop in style, donations of pay what you can (PWYC) are requested. Seated and standing variations taught. This is an “all levels” dance space, especially suited for those wanting to engage in a body mind connection practice through dance.
Note:This is not a fitness space or a dance “work out” class.

A Dancer’s Sanctuary
started Fall 2024, this is a PAID leadership and creative development intensive for cultural dancers, centering disabled and fat dancers across the US South. (NC, VA, SC 2024 - 2025).
Headed to GA and TN in 2026 - 2027!

Monthly Wellness Gatherings
a monthly sacred space held across NC (Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro & Charlotte) led by GEM collaborating artists, healers, and organizers. This is an alternative, sacred space designed to support fat and disabled folks to build community with each other. These monthly gatherings will focus on wellbeing from a place of body sovereignty and soul nourishment.

JoyBody Crew 2019
A dance based program designed to increase embodiment as well as aquire and deepen tools for collaboration through an artistic and dance based expression program, that has worked with adults from 23 and up.

GEM Southern Convening 2023
a weekend long event for artists, organizers/activists, and healers held in August to deepen political education around size and disability for BIPOC residents across 3 states, including medical advocacy training and skill sharing.

Young, Gifted and Fat | Young, Gifted & Disabled
A project based paid internship for Fat and Disabled young people ages 17 - 21 seeking mentorship in how to hold their power in leadership and desire support in navigating a world that underestimates and over looks their leadership. More details coming soon!
